The Opportunity:

Ashurst's global Knowledge & Expertise teams are dedicated to ensuring the highest levels of lawyer insight, capability and delivery. The Research & Business Intelligence team is part of the Knowledge & Expertise division. We ensure our lawyers and business services teams have access to the resources they need and research support to enable them to provide the best advice to their clients and pursue business development opportunities.

This is an exciting role that will drive our strategic intelligence capability to the next level. You will use your expertise in business and competitive research to develop and deliver insightful and actionable intelligence to support Ashurst's client, industry and mega trend strategic areas of focus.

You will work closely with the Head of Research & Business Intelligence to develop the strategy and implement the strategic intelligence offering. The role is part of the global Research & Business Intelligence management team. This is a high profile role working directly with Partners; senior managers from the Clients, Markets & Growth team and Expertise Lawyers.

As Strategic Intelligence Lead you will manage a small team of researchers who develop regular insights on industries and mega trends in accordance with Ashurst's strategic focus areas. You will work in partnership with the Clients, Markets & Growth team on investigations and providing market intelligence.

This role will also involve performing some of the research and analysis to create reports, slide decks and insights plus guiding and mentoring researchers. The position is well suited to an experienced researcher who enjoys the challenge of working across multiple industries and topics, and can distil data and information from multiple sources into actionable insight.

About You:

• Previous experience in a research and analysis capacity, ideally gained in a legal, professional services or financial environment
• Comprehensive experience in researching industries, topics, markets, trends, companies and competitors
• The ability to synthesise complex information into insights
• Experience in using a broad set of research resources and tools and some previous experience with analytics or visualisation tools
• Capable of working on multiple concurrent projects and the ability to manage and prioritise the needs of key stakeholders
• A solution focused approach to problem solving with critical, reflective and creative thinking
• Strong planning, project management, delegation and organisational skills
• Commercial awareness and business mindset and a commitment to life-long learning and professional development
• Outstanding stakeholder engagement, interpersonal and communication skills
• A relevant qualification is preferred, ideally in libraries, information science, law, business, marketing or analytics
