They love love love their country. As “interesting” as the weather is here, they will choose to live here rather than anywhere else in the world!

They are kind people.

I have experienced lots of generosity since I moved here 16yrs ago and there are few places where you will find kinder people than the Scots!

They are a fun bunch to be around.

I am Nigerian so when I say they are a fun bunch to be around, that is saying something. They make fun of everything especially themselves, their food, their accent and so on. You get to a level of confidence where you can make fun of yourself and I lav it!

They will try to convert you to Scottism

And what I mean is they will encourage you to try the food, the various accent, the Scottish culture and general Scottish lifestyle. When I say I am part Scot, I mean it because I am definitely getting converted!

The way to a Scot’s heart is a bevvy!

For those who don’t know what a bevvy means, it’s alcohol, so if you are new in town and looking to make friends then invite your Scottish colleagues or classmates to the pub and you will have yourself instant friends.
