National Inclusion Week 2022 with Tesco Bank

With over 100 attendees hosted at the magnificent Tesco Bank Head office Edinburgh, we had a beautifully well-coordinated networking event.

There was a well-delivered and enlightening presentation from Sophie Williams, an extraordinary author, an Ex Netflixer and a diversity and inclusion consultant.
Sophie spoke on the topic of Allyship especially in the work environment and why it is important to act now. One of the lessons of her presentation was that “Allyship isn't just about actions, Allyship is what you do, not what you believe”.

Another highlight of event was having the Tesco Bank CEO, Gerry Mallon offering a welcoming speech where he talked about the importance diversity and inclusion in the work environment, and Tesco Bank's approach to being a more inclusive organisation.

Thanks to the leadership team at Black Professionals Scotland and especially to Taofeek for delivering a very grand welcoming and closing speech.

Of course, there was super tasty refreshments from the professional food services at Tesco, and during this food break was even a greater opportunity for everyone to introduce and connect with one another.

It was also a pleasure to be received by Carol Breckenridge, Stephanie Nicoll and the rest of the Tesco bank team, thanks for hosting us!

Looking forward to many more events like this with all our partners.

Further BPS attendees and mentions: Enoch Adeyemi, Tosin Ogunlesi, Akosua Asabea, Onyinye Igbokwe, Benny Nmeholam, Brendan Njoku
