Our People Operations team 👋

The People Operations team supports and enables everyone in FreeAgent to focus on doing their best work, through the delivery of exceptional service across our 3 sub-teams: the People team, Talent team and Front Office team. The role 👩‍🚀

As a People Consultant (Learning & Development) in the People Team you’ll have a wide scope of work connecting you with internal and external stakeholders. A core part of our people strategy is to retain and develop the talent that we need to achieve our business objectives, and a key focus for us is to deliver a working environment which allows people to develop their careers and progress whilst at FreeAgent.

We take a holistic approach to learning with a blend of centralised and distributed opportunities, and it’s important that we identify and deliver exceptional content that reflects our values, our culture and our drive towards individual growth and operational excellence.

Day to day here’s what you can expect:
This role requires previous experience operating in a mid level Learning & Development role. You’ll enjoy variety, ongoing development, and have a chance to influence and take the lead on delivering a variety of strategic people focused projects. You’ll enjoy the support and input from a highly collaborative team, with regular time to plan and and review work.

Key objectives of the role include:

Build on our learning needs analysis to determine our organisational learning and development needs with a particular focus on management skills and career planning.
Develop a suite of resources that reflects the best of new and established industry tools and practices.
Develop our learning brand, and design and deliver training through workshops and structured programmes.
Build on our current content and promote content and resources for our e-learning platform and intranet site.
Coordinate our management and leadership development programme, ensuring that our learning initiatives support our FreeAgent management principles.
Support the further development of a growth mindset strategy and our strengths based approach to development.
Manage external learning suppliers and arrange external training delivery where required
Advise managers on relevant learning and development activity that will support both our company strategy and individual development plans
Manage all associated administration with the role, including supported study requests, analysis of learning data and contributing to our People Operations reporting
Lead and manage learning related projects and support wider team projects where required
Work collaboratively across People Operations and the wider FreeAgent team to support work across teams

You’ll enjoy variety in your role and be comfortable managing and prioritising multiple projects alongside day to day work and ad-hoc requests. Self driven and committed to ongoing self-development, you’ll take full ownership of work, taking action to overcome any barriers to delivery. Naturally you’ll be a people person, with a warm, engaging and inclusive approach to all that you do.

Ideally you’ll have

Experience of designing, delivering and measuring learning initiatives, including face-to-face training (essential)
Experience of conducting learning needs assessments and analysing data to inform learning activities
Level 5 qualification in Learning and Development or Human Resource Management (preferably CIPD accredited)
Good working knowledge of learning theory and practical application
Basic knowledge of talent management theories and practices

Annual salary £28,000 – £37,000 (FTE) depending on experience, plus competitive benefits package. This is a part time role, ideally 21 hours per week but open to negotiation between 14 – 21 hours per week. You’ll be primarily based in our offices in Fountainbridge, Edinburgh under a hybrid working pattern with the option to work remotely outside agreed set office days.

This role could be attractive to an individual who is returning to work or is looking for an opportunity to develop and contribute to the creation of a L&D proposition within a fast moving organisation whilst managing family commitments and a work life balance.
