We have a new role for a desktop publisher / presentations designer to help our Pensions Market team deliver high quality, impactful, on-brand documents and presentations for our clients.  We’re looking for someone who’s passionate about creating engaging, customer focused materials that help create an excellent client experience and support our brand.  We want someone who can take content and decide the best media and format to deliver it in the most engaging and accessible way.  As well as creating documents from scratch and reviewing documents created by consultants, this role will include responsibility for reviewing and improving our templates across the Microsoft Office Suite and acting as a champion and advocate for using templates and styles across the wider team.

Supporting our Pensions team directly, you will also work closely with our talented in-house design team who are owners of the Hymans visual brand.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Create, manage, and coordinate documents and presentations (mostly in Word and PowerPoint) to communicate key messages to existing and potential clients to a high standard
  • Ability to apply the appropriate level of brand consistency to presentations and other materials, ensuring they are client centric, clear, compelling and impactful while maintaining the integrity of the Hymans Robertson visual brand identity
  • Have a keen eye for copy, layout, structure and feel comfortable challenging written content to create the most impactful output
  • Drive innovation in format and media of presentation collateral
  • Generate customised presentations / documents as required
  • Create and maintain template documents and presentations for use by consultants
  • Review any presentations / documents created by pensions team to ensure a great look, formatting and content
  • Eye for detail and willing to implement and help maintain brand standards across wider team, acting as a champion and advocate for excellent standards in all materials produced for clients
  • Produce relevant graphics within Microsoft packages, both developing proactively and reinterpreting pre-existing content
  • Produce templates and materials to improve efficiency of service
  • Share knowledge / training on document and presentation production as needed
  • Liaise with external print and production provider when needed
  • Manage multiple projects, meet deadlines,


Skills Required

  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel and PowerPoint).
  • Managing priorities, adhering to deadlines , prioritise effectively and have an eye for detail
  • Great eye for design and layout with experience applying consistent graphic standards
  • Strong creative skills with the desire to create high-quality presentations
  • Ability to present a large volume of information in concise, easy to understand formats, with a willingness to challenge / make recommendations to improve the quality of our content
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Strong attention to detail
  • A calm and professional approach to work well under pressure

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Advanced desktop publishing software skills in Microsoft Office
  • Preferably some experience of working in a professional services/consultancy environment and / or experience of working in bid/proposal environments
