Working closely with the Finance team and other stakeholders, the Power BI analyst will be responsible for developing Power BI reports and dashboards. They will be responsible for articulating and documenting requirements and developing reporting solutions that meet those requirements.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Develop Power BI reports and dashboards that connect to a variety of on- and off- premise data sources, ensuring data is optimised
  • Delivering data and reporting requirements to business users and investigating and resolving reporting errors, data discrepancies and queries
  • Understand information requirements from the business by interacting with the various stakeholder
  • Conduct unit testing and troubleshooting
  • Collaborate with teams to integrate systems
  • Help promote the use of Power BI dashboards by business end users
  • Fulfil the role of a subject matter expert in data reporting best practice and implement those practices
  • Utilise tools and techniques for ensuring data quality, security, validation, and recovery
  • Input into and help manage the roadmap for the development of MI/ reporting/ dashboards
  • Train and share knowledge with members of the team in the use of Power BI
  • Work with other Power BI users across the firm to help evolve and improve firmwide approach to MI
  • Develop and update technical documentation & user manuals
  • Ensure appropriate controls and governance are in place for Power BI
  • Keep up to date with technical and industry sector developments

Qualifications/Skills/Experience:

  • Extensive Power BI experience
  • Possess expert data reporting and visualisation skills using Power BI with strong SQL querying and DAX skills
  • Experience of using PowerBI report builder (Paginated reports) (desirable)
  • Highly Skilled at queries, report writing and presenting findings
  • Microsoft Certified Data Analyst qualification (desirable)
    Experience working within a finance systems team (desirable)
  • Technical expertise regarding data models, database design development, data mining and integration techniques
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organise, analyse, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong relationship management and team working skills and the ability to influence and drive adoption of processes and consistent standards across a diverse organisation
  • Self-motivated and able to identify and exploit the numerous opportunities to add value and grow the capability of Power BI reporting
  • Personal drive and evidence of continuous professional development throughout career.
  • Have a genuine interest in coding and data analysis
