The Department of Computer and Information Sciences (CIS) seeks to appoint a Teaching Fellow in Computer Science in order to grow its expanding portfolio of postgraduate and undergraduate modules in the area. Based within the Faculty of Science, CIS is an internationally recognised research department specialising in computer security, health informatics, interactive systems, information science and theoretical computer science. It is home to around 600 undergraduates, taught postgraduate and PhD students with an increasing emphasis on in person and online delivery of high-quality educational programmes. CIS is working closely with industry through a growing portfolio of education and knowledge exchange projects supported by the Scottish Funding Council Innovation Centres, like the DataLab and the Digital Health and Care Institute, and Innovate UK.
CIS has expanded its MSc in Advanced Computer Science (ACS), through additional intakes and expansion of modules on offer. The ACS MSc programme is designed for individuals with a background in computing or related disciplines who want to specialise in certain aspects of computing (artificial intelligence, data analysis, software engineering etc.). Successful applicants will be expected to play a central role in the delivery and future design of the programme. You will need a proven academic or professional track record in a field related to computer science or software engineering, experience of data science is an advantage. The teaching and learning environment within Strathclyde is rapidly evolving, including more use of online and technology enabled, as well as more traditional delivery. You will need to demonstrate flexibility to adapt and innovate your approach to teaching and learning to embrace this evolution. Some overseas teaching may also be required.
