Salary range: £41,526 – £51,034
FTE: 1
Term: Open-ended
Closing date: 23/05/2021

We currently offer both undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in TESOL – BA (Hons) Education & TESOL and MSc TESOL & Intercultural Communication. We are committed to grow our numbers in TESOL, and to diversify our international student population.

We are seeking a new member of staff who will contribute to interdisciplinary activities within the School/Faculty and across the University, and who will enhance our international reputation in TESOL. As the School further develops its innovative blended and distance learning courses, the post-holder will be expected to contribute to the future developments of TESOL which may include fully online MSc/MEd TESOL/language education degrees, new placement modules and possible opportunities for students and recent graduates to work with industry/professional bodies.

As the majority of the students on our BA and MSc TESOL courses are international students for whom English is not their first language, the post-holder will be expected to design and deliver a range of academic and support programmes which take into account their needs and aspirations. The post-holder will also be able to support other PG courses, including the iPGCE, MSc Education Studies amongst others, and contribute to PGR conversions – all of which have a large international student population.

The successful candidate will have an established academic track record and significant professional experience in the relevant area. They will be expected to lead the design, delivery and evaluation of our TESOL programmes from undergraduate to postgraduate levels.

Informal enquiries about the post can be directed to Linda Brownlow, Head of School of Education, linda.brownlow@strath.ac.uk, 07919371449.
